What roadblocks would I hit for homesteading in NJ?

I'm looking to start an 'off the grid' homestead on a plot of land that has been in my family. The land is vacant and located in Tabernacle Township New Jersey. The main thing I am worried about is septic. I tried doing some basic web searching and came up with nothing. Anyone have info or experience with this? Or who I might contact?
